The origin of the name "Silverfish", has perplexed people for centuries. People for 157 years have wondered, "What genius named them "Silverfish"? Since they are neither made of silver or fish, one has to wonder why a more appropriate name wasn't used, such as "Wall Guts" "Bedtime Book Scare" or "Go Get the Ladder".
Unfortunately, they can live up to eight years and up to one year without eating your books or wedding dress. Therefore, it is important to know how to get rid of these nocturnal pests. Scientists in Poland suggest getting rid of all sources of water and food in the home. Whereas in California, researchers are lobbying for the protection of these innocent animals. However, the best known way to control overpopulation of silverfish is to either toss them bait or buy a cat.

Connection between the French language and Neanderthals!
The various "Ouwww", "Awwhhh", and grunts sounds found in the French language today have been linked to the grunts and noises of the Neanderthals that once occupied France. Dr. Berry and Dr. Bone, both linguistic scientists, made this discovery upon hearing their own "grunting sounds" near the caves of Lascaux.
They state that they made this discovery over a spilled bottle of Fer, a type of French wine. Upon finishing their lunch, Dr. Berry and Dr. Bone discovered the new connection. This scientific breakthrough was also able to link the name "Fer" to the phrase, "It will grow hair on your chest".
Dr. Bone hopes that this new discovery will also provide them with answers to other questions; such as, the number of people that died before discovering which mushrooms were edible. Until this research is complete, both Dr. Berry and Dr. Bone are not answering any more questions at this time.
